Savvas Chionidis served as the Mayor of Katerini from 2007 to 2019. From 2019 to 2023, he was elected as a Member of Parliament for Pieria. During the same period (2019-2023), he served as the President of the Hellenic Parliament’s Technical Council.Before his involvement in politics, he worked as a civil engineer in the private sector, focusing on construction and design since 1983. He also worked in tourism, being a founding member of the Hotel Owners Association while also operating his own tourist establishment.Born and active in Katerini, Pieria, he is a graduate of the Department of Civil Engineering at Democritus University of Thrace and is married with three children.
