Christoforos Dimitriou was born and raised in Athens. He studied law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and did postgraduate studies at the same University, on civil law with emphasis on banking law. He is a lawyer, member of the Athens Bar Association.  He worked at the Directorate General Legal Services of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt a.M. and in 2008 he joined the Central Bank of Cyprus where he has been working since. He lives with his wife and their two children in Nicosia.
