Dionysios Protopapas, is Head of the Economic and Commercial Section of the Embassy of Greece in Washington DC since Sept. 2025 after tours in Toronto, Tokyo, Berlin, Moscow, Istanbul and New York. In Athens, he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the cabinet of Undersecretaries and Secretaries General of International Economic Relations. He started out as a lawyer in Athens and holds an MBA degree as well as degrees in Law and Public Administration. He speaks Greek, English, French and German. He has competed as a semi-professional water polo player with the Vouliagmeni Nautical Club in Greece and W.F.Spandau in Germany.
