Born and educated in Ireland, where she worked as a Primary Care Physician.. Relocated to Cyprus in 1990 and has worked in many community healthcare and residential care centres. Continued her work at the Medical and Public Health Services concentrating on school health and public health policy. Member of the Management Board of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) up to 2024. Was heavily involved in a Peer Review, a joint initiative between the Ministry of Health Social Welfare Services and the EU Social Protection Committee about the health monitoring of care homes in Cyprus during the COVID pandemic. Lecturer at local universities in the field of primary and population health. She has an interest in well-being, longevity and music.
