Panteleimon D. Tsakiris He was born and raised in Palaiokastro of the Municipality of Oraiokastro, on the feast day of Saint Demetrios in 1983. He is a graduate of the Unified Lyceum of Oraiokastro and holds a degree from the Department of Political Science at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and the University of Salzburg in Austria. He holds two master’s degrees, one in the field of International Relations (Free University of Berlin) and the other in Politics and Economics of Contemporary Eastern and Southeastern Europe (University of Macedonia). He speaks English and German. For the first time, he took a seat in the council chamber of the Municipal Council of Oraiokastro at the age of 24, in 2007. He remained a municipal councilor until 2010 and served in the same institution again from 2011 to 2012. He actively participated in the European Network of Young Elected Officials of Local Government. In 2008, he was appointed a member of the Board of Directors of the then Thessaloniki Hospital of Special Diseases, while his highest honor was the appointment—in December 2013, at the age of 30—as Deputy Director of the unified hospital “G. Gennimatas – Agios Dimitrios,” with full responsibilities in the decentralized unit “Agios Dimitrios”. In the 2019 local government elections, his fellow citizens elected him as Mayor of Oraiokastro with a percentage of 69.27%. In 2019, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Regional Union of Municipalities of Central Macedonia. In the 2023 local government elections, he was re-elected Mayor of Oraiokastro from the first Sunday of the elections. In 2024, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece and was appointed President of the Committee on Culture and Youth.
