Aziel Philippos Goulandris is the Secretary-General of the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA). He leads the largest and oldest Civil Society movement in support of the United Nations, a global federation of 100+ national UN Associations, steering projects on education, peace & security dialogues, and youth empowerment programs that connect the UN to citizens worldwide. Mr. Goulandris previously served as Director WFUNA’s Geneva Office, and Deputy Secretary-General. In these roles he helped expand WFUNA’s outreach capacity and programs, including convening civil society dialogues with senior UN diplomats and growing flagship training initiatives for students and young professionals. Before his election as Secretary-General, he served as Human Rights and Humanitarian expert at the Permanent Mission of Greece in Geneva, Legal Advisor in France, and Legal Officer for the French Coast Guard Service. He holds an M.A. degree in Geopolitics King’s College London with a specific focus on the Law of the Sea and M.A./B.A. degrees in Law and Political Science from the University of Bordeaux. He is fluent in Greek, English, French, and Spanish.
