Eric Scotto
Chairman and Co-Founder
Akuo {label=France, value=France}
Éric Scotto is a committed entrepreneur, combining his talents as an investor with his concern for the climate. After ten years in information technology, two years in finance and a first success in business creation, he created Perfect Wind and built a first wind farm of 57 MW in 2004. Perfect Wind became a leader in the production of renewable electricity and was acquired by the world's leading wind power company Iberdrola in 2006.
In 2007, he co-founded Akuo, a global independent producer and developer of renewable energy. The company is active across the entire value chain, spanning from project development to financing, construction and operation activities. Akuo has invested over €3 billions to build a portfolio of over 2 GW of assets in operation or under construction and a 20 GW development pipeline. With more than 450 employees, the group is headquartered in Paris, France, and operates in more than 15 countries spanning over the 5 continents.
Focusing on three technologies - solar, wind and storage - Akuo also develops, finances, operates and manages its assets. While the production of renewable energy is Akuo's core business, Eric Scotto instils a genuine local focus throughout the life of the projects, serving the territories that host them.
Beyond energy, Eric Scotto has been at the forefront of bringing together two key societal levers: electricity and food production. In 2010, he created the Agrinergie® concept, now widely known as agrivoltaics.
Eric Scotto is an entrepreneur by nature, constantly launching innovative companies in the fields of energy and film production. Through the Akuo Foundation, which he set up in 2010, he supports numerous community projects.
