Thrasyvoulos (Thras) Karydis is the Co-Founder & Chief Technical Officer of DeepCure Inc, a biotechnology startup spun out of MIT Media Lab in 2018. DeepCure is a next-generation therapeutics company that employs advanced deep learning and artificial intelligence techniques to revolutionize the small-molecule drug discovery process, enabling more efficient and targeted solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. Thras has a diverse background in scientific research, with publications in protein engineering, machine learning, laser-micromachining, and quantum computing. Before founding DeepCure, Thras led various hardware and software projects, including rapid prototyping in FabLabs worldwide, ultra-fast laser micromachining, and self-calibrating wearable EEG sensors for pain detection. He holds a Master of Science from MIT Media Lab and a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras.
