Kaare Nielsen is the Vice President for European operations & government affairs at SAFE. He is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Kaare brings 15+ years of senior leadership experience from government, international institutions and business at the global level. He started out at the World Bank and UN, but spent majority of his career leading, driving and scaling government affairs and public policy functions in biotech, energy and mobility. Notably at Novozymes, Uber and HERE Technologies and the Foreign Ministry leading advocacy, public policy, innovation and stakeholder engagement, e.g. mobilising a €3,7 billion EU investment partnership for the Biobased industries.

Kaare has a master’s in political science from the University of Copenhagen.
