Panos Nicolaides is the Director of Research at the EU Tax Observatory; a leading research centre at the Paris School of Economics, dedicated to the study of tax evasion by large corporations and wealthy individuals. Previously, he worked at the European Commission and the Hellenic Ministry of Finance. He served as Special Economic Advisor to finance ministers; as Alternate Member at the Eurogroup Working Group; and as Alternate Director at the European Stability Mechanism. He had a central role in the macroeconomic stabilisation of Greece, its debt restructuring negotiations and successful implementation of its fiscal consolidation program 2015-2018. In Cyprus, he is a member of the executive committee of Oxygono.
