Aikaterini Papageorgiou, born in Athens in 1997, is a theatre director. She studied Performing Arts at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and holds an MA in Theatre Directing from Royal Holloway, University of London, where she trained under Katie Mitchell. Since 2025, she has been pursuing a PhD researching Ancient Drama in prison settings. In 2018, she founded the theatre company The Young Quill in London, which has been based in Athens since 2020. Since 2022, she has been the Artistic Director of Bellos Theatre in Plaka. Since 2023, she has led the annual theatre programme for inmates at Korydallos Prison, directing productions of ancient Greek drama. Her directing work has been presented in collaboration with leading cultural institutions and venues in Greece, including the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, the Greek Ministry of Culture, the Little Theatre of Ancient Epidaurus, Bellos Theatre, Anesis Theatre, and the B. & M. Theocharakis Foundation for the Fine Arts and Music, among others. She has also directed numerous productions for summer tours across Greece, performing in venues and festivals outside the Attica region. Her work has received several distinctions, including directing and audience awards, as well as a nomination from the Greek Theatre and Performing Arts Critics Association. For the 2026–2027 season, she has been commissioned to direct a production for the National Theatre of Greece.
